Michael Millis

SNEADS FERRY - Robert Michael Millis passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, in his home of over a decade, at the age of 51.

He was born on April 23,1974 in Jacksonville, N.C. to Randy and Tari (Aldridge) Millis. Michael grew up in Sneads Ferry, N.C. and graduated from Dixon High School.

Michael was once married to Kendra Seyer, and they have 3 beautiful children together, Ethan, Naomi, and Korbin.

Many things brought Michael joy, but nothing compared to spending time with his children and helping others. Michael was very outgoing with a big heart. Michael was a fifth-generation fisherman, and his later years were spent carrying the torch of the famous "Shrimp Lady" in Sneads Ferry, doing what his father did and his grandmother before him. Hundreds of comments have been left referencing how Michael brightened their day when they stopped by to buy seafood from him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Randy Millis, Sr.; and his sister, Sherri Millis Shuster.

Left to mourn his passing is his previous wife, Kendra; his children, Ethan, Naomi, and Korbin; his mother, Tari Millis and her husband, Jack Winebrenner; his stepmother, Tammy Henslee and her husband, Mark Henslee; his siblings, Randy Millis, Becky Millis Corcoran, Amy Millis Turner, Christopher Winebrenner and Jacki Winebrenner; and countless friends, extended family, and fellow community members.

A visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, October 29 from 1:00 until 2:00 PM at New River Community Church, 117 Wheeler Creek Road, Sneads Ferry, NC. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at New River Community Church. Burial will follow at Jack Millis Cemetery on Wheeler Creek Road.
