Marilyn Moore Obituary
Marilyn June Moore, age 87, of Eaton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on October 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 13, 1938, in Eldorado, Ohio, to the late Harold V. Sell and Ruth Emily (Leach) Sell.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 66 years, L. Jack Moore, her sister Ione (Allen) Hiestand, and a daughter-in-law, Pamela Jean (Thorpe) Moore.
She is survived by her two sons, Michael Moore of Eaton, Ohio, and Martin Moore of Mason, Ohio; one daughter, Lisa (Joe) Swartsell of Eaton, Ohio; as well as seven cherished grandchildren: Andrew Moore of Port St. Lucie, Florida, Kristina Carver of Eaton, Ohio, Blaine (Chelsi) Moore of Mesa, Arizona, Amy Moore of Phoenix, Arizona, Blake Moore and Stephen Moore of Surprise, Arizona, and Justin (Erica) Swartsell and Kristin (Jon) Pettitt, both of Eaton, Ohio. Marilyn was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren: Drew Moore, Kylee (Jonah) Moore-Langford, Samantha Bowman, Alex Jackson, Dylan Jackson, Josie Jackson, Cooper Carver, Franki Jo Moore, Baylie Moore, AJ Pettitt, Emma Pettitt, Eva Swartsell, Eli Jade Swartsell, and Jagger Swartsell.
A dedicated homemaker, Marilyn was an integral part of her family for many years. Alongside her husband, she co-owned Shaver's Ice Cream and later transitioned from part-time to full-time ministry, where she played the piano and organ and taught children's classes. Marilyn's unwavering commitment to her faith was reflected in her lifelong devotion to spreading love, kindness, and the teachings of Christianity to all she encountered.Her legacy is one of deep faith, generosity, and selfless service to her family and community. Marilyn was particularly devoted to caring for her grandchildren, always ready to lend a hand and share her love and wisdom. Her memory will live on through her family, her faith, and the many lives she touched with her kindness.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 11:00 am until time of funeral service at 1:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Dane Driver officiating.
