27, 1928 – November 8, 2025

Marilyn Napack, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully at age 97. Born in Bronx NY, she grew up in Brooklyn, and lived for a short while in Shanks Village in Orangetown, NY, and Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania before moving to Westfield, NJ in 1957 where she resided until moving to Corvallis, Oregon in 2016.

Marilyn married the love of her life, George, and was devoted to him until his passing in 1990. Together they built a warm and nurturing home in Westfield where they raised three devoted children: Bob Napack and his wife Karen of Laguna Woods, California; Steven Napack and his wife Jan of Corvallis, Oregon; and Susan Napack and her husband Michael Gendel of Salem, Oregon. She was also a proud grandmother to David Napack (wife, Cassie) and Rebekah Bazanele (husband, Michael), and cherished her great-granddaughters, Violet and Eloise, who brought her endless joy.

Marilyn was an active member of Temple Emanu-El in Westfield and was a member of Congregation Beit Am in Corvallis. A long-standing treasurer of Westfield Hadassah, she made lasting contributions and many friendships. In recognition of her commitment and leadership, Marilyn was honored as their Woman of the Year in 1987.

Throughout her life including on her many travels, she collected life-long friends. She had a remarkably unwavering positive spirit. Always ready with a kind word and a ready smile, she made an impression on all who met her, even in her later years.

The family is grateful for the thoughtful and sensitive care she received at Timberhill Place and through Lumina Hospice and Palliative Care in Corvallis. A private family service will be held in her memory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to either Temple Emanuel, Hadassah or a charity of choice in Marilyn's honor.
