Marilyn Pfaller Obituary

Visit the Church & Chapel Funeral Home - West Allis website to view the full obituary.
It is with broken hearts that we share the passing of a dynamic woman, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Marilyn Pfaller went home to be with the Lord on January 13, 2026, at the age of eighty-three. She was born November 9, 1942, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin; the first-born of five children of Frank and Genevieve Pfaller.

Marilyn pursued her passion to serve others and became a member of the Religious Sisters of Mercy. She earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education from St. Xavier's College, Chicago, Illinois, and began her teaching career at Precious Blood Parish in the heart of Chicago.

During her career, Marilyn supported reading literacy and learning with teachers, as well as classroom teaching. She taught in Catholic schools in Illinois, Wisconsin, and in Chinle, Arizona on the Navajo Indian Reservation. Marilyn concluded her teaching career as principal of Ss. Cyril and Methodius, Milwaukee. She then expanded her skills of reading literacy and community as a resource person at the West Allis Library reference desk.

Marilyn had great times with her two treasured friends: Nadine and Carol. During her retirement Carol introduced Marilyn to the adventures of 'camping with cats' in a motorhome as they discovered new places together throughout the U.S. As an avid Milwaukee Brewers' fan, she enjoyed attending games with Nadine and Michael and pizza parties with them and their grandchildren Jordan and Maddie.

She is survived by the following who will miss her with all their hearts…Siblings: Elaine (Dennis deceased) Wulff, Susan (John) Shackelford, Germaine (Richard deceased) Harris, John (Renee) Pfaller, eight nieces and nephews: Bryan (Dana) Wulff, Kathe Wulff, Zack (Nikki) Shackelford, Jen (Mark) Kilzer, Sam (Kasie) Shackelford, Julie Shackelford (Simon Hansen), Jessica Smith, Jeffrey (Nora) Pfaller and eighteen great nieces and nephews.

Our family wishes to thank everyone who reached out with love and compassion to our sister during this difficult time.

Relatives and friends may join the family on Saturday, March 14, at ST. BARNABAS CATHOLIC CHURCH-ST. AUGUSTINE SITE, 6768 W. Rogers St., West Allis from 10-10:45 AM, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM.

"It is not the magnitude of our actions,

but the amount of love that is put into them that matters."
