Marilyn J. (Spano) Pollini, 92, a resident of Highland Manor, Exeter, Pa., since November 2017, went quietly to her Lord on March 18, 2023. Marilyn was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., and relocated to Massapequa, N.Y., where she resided through her childhood and teen years. Marilyn was the daughter of the late Edward Spano and the late Mildred (Barone) Spano.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Louis R., in 2015; her son, Louis C., in 2020; and her grandson, Christopher, in 2022.
Marilyn and Louis raised their eight children: Patricia Castagna, Pamela Lucas, Penni Novegrod, Peri Pollini, Pauline Davey, Louis Pollini, Christopher Pollini and Peggi Hoctor, in Merrick, N.Y., residing there for 43 years of their life. She was a devoted and dedicated wife to her husband, Louis, her soulmate and the love of her life for 65 years, and she also dedicated her life to loving and guiding her eight children.
In addition to her children, she was very active in many roles at Cure of Ars Parish through the years.
Marilyn and Louis retired and relocated to Lake Winola, Pa., in 1993 and again she was very active at St. Mary of the Lake Parish.
She has a legacy of eight children, 20 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to attend Marilyn's Mass of Christian Burial which will be offered on Monday, March 27, 2023, at 10 a.m. from St. Mary of the Lake, 1872 Dalton Road, Lake Winola, PA 18625, to be celebrated by the Rev. Arbogaste Satoun. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Lake Winola.
A visitation will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 26, 2023, from Sheldon-Kukuchka Funeral Home, 73 W. Tioga St., Tunkhannock, PA 18657.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Alzheimer's Association in the name of Marilyn Pollini. Please visit the funeral home website to share memories or extend condolences.
