Celebrating a Life of Dedication, Family, and Kindness
Marilyn Jo Rahn, known affectionately as Jo, was born on November 9, 1939, in Utica, New York, daughter of Albert O. Williams and Doris Inglis Williams. She passed away peacefully on October 11, 2025, surrounded by loved ones, after a lifetime devoted to family, work, and community.
Early Life and Family
Jo grew up in Utica, New York, where she formed the foundation of her values and work ethic. On November 7, 1959, she married her beloved husband, Charles A. Rahn. Their enduring partnership was an inspiration to all who knew them, lasting more than six decades until her passing.
Jo was the proud mother of Jeffrey S. Rahn and the late Carleen A. Rahn. She was very involved in their early development as she enjoyed time as a scout leader and as a volunteer at the local elementary school. The children in the neighborhood often referred to her as their "2nd mom".
She cherished her role as grandmother to Jessica Lassen, Jillian Morstad, and Alexander Rahn, and her love extended to her great-grandchildren, Bailey Lassen, Olivia Lassen, and Mae Morstad.
Professional Life
Jo's career was marked by dedication and excellence. She began working for McDonald's restaurants in 1970 at the North Utica location, where she quickly became a valued member of the team. Her duties included delivering hamburgers and milk shakes to the kid's gallery at the local Bozo the Clown show. In 1975, Jo and her family moved to San Antonio, where she continued her work with McDonald's. Her professional journey reached new heights when she moved to Oklahoma City in 1981 and joined the McDonald's corporate family. Jo's contributions, particularly to the McMasters and McJobs programs, were a source of immense pride and made a lasting impact on her colleagues and the company. She retired in 2001, leaving behind a legacy of mentorship and commitment.
