She is survived by her nephew Michael Anderton (Brandy), brother Kenneth Davis Riggan (Kathy), granddaughter Amber and her great grandchildren.
Marilyn loved travelling with her sister Judy, her favorite place was Shackleford Island where she collected seashells which she made into beautiful decorations, she was an accomplished interior designer at Lloyd's of Roanoke Rapids.
The family will receive friends and family on Wednesday September 17, 2025, from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Hockaday Funeral & Cremation. There will be a graveside service on Thursday September 18, 2025, at 11:00am at Community Center Baptist Church Cemetery 2360 Ridgecrest Road Halifax, NC. Pastor Jason Yeatts officiating the service.
