Marilyn Jean Scarpone of Wintersville Ohio passed away peacefully at home on Saturday February 28, 2026. She was surrounded by her family and caregivers. She was born on August 20 , 1935 in Steubenville Ohio. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Anthony and Joanna Recinella, her brother Joseph Recinella, and sister Mary Elizabeth Caranna.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years Justin, her four sons, Michael (Dina), James (Annette), David (Erika), and Brian Scarpone. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, niece Lisa Caranna, and nephew Charles Caranna.
Her family would like to express their gratitude to the wonderful caregivers that have taken care of Marilyn over the last several years, and also Amedysis Hospice.
A private celebration of life for the immediate family will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers or gifts, in memory of Marilyn Scarpone, please make a check payable to The Franciscan University c/o The Tom Kelley Fund or to The Linsly School.
