Marilyn Ruth "Pat" Shovlin, 83, passed away peacefully in her sleep on March 26, 2025.
Born on January 10, 1942, Pat was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Her warmth, strength, and kindness touched the lives of all who knew her, and she will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dennis "Corky" Shovlin; her son, Dennis Shovlin; her parents, Harriet (Borlin) Melton and Herbert Melton; her siblings Buddy, Leroy, Jack, and Mildred; and her nephew, Thomas.
Pat is survived by her children, Patricia Shovlin, Renee Kraft, Michael Shovlin and his wife Barbara, and Shawn Shovlin and his wife Shannon. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Danielle, Kalee, John Michael, Brittney, Dennis, Anthony, and Connor. Her legacy continues through her seven great-grandchildren, with an eighth soon to arrive.
A memorial service will be held at Yeosock Funeral Home, 40 South Main Street, Plains, on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Friends and family are invited to call from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m., with a funeral service at 3:30 p.m. Pastor Dan Shission will officiate.
Pat's life was marked by quiet resilience, enduring love, and the joy she found in her family. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion and selfless care that will be remembered with love and gratitude.
