Marilyn Louise Terando passed away unexpectedly on February 17, 2025. Louise was born on June 12, 1941, to a grand clan of Mondy children of John and Cora (Brookman) Mondy. Louise married John Terando, Sr. in 1964 and they had three children. Children were not in her first plan, so she shifted gears and became a dedicated mom who gave all she had to her kids. She was preceded in passing by her husband, John; daughter, Jacqueline; and her son, John, Jr.; as well as by her parents; her sisters Sis, Bess, Leta, Madge, Vivian and a sister in infancy; and her brothers Warren, Wib, Al, Ed, Gene, Delmar and Marvin.
Nothing gave Weezie greater pride or joy than her grandchildren; she treasured time she had to clown around with them. She was the best Grammy ever and is sorely missed by her 7 grands, her daughter Lorena, nieces, nephews, outlaws and in-laws, and cherished friends old and new.
Louise was an artist at heart and, after a long career as a hospital laboratory technician, she shifted gears again and became a pastry chef. She was well known for fantastic birthday and wedding cakes, pastries, candies, and delights of all varieties. She had a great love for fine food and cooked and baked often for her family, more often than not with a glass of wine to toast to loved ones with her, and to the memory of those who weren't. She was a prolific china painter, creator of stunning afghans and other knitted, crocheted, hand-sewn, and embroidered art throughout her life. Prickly on the outside and not one to mince words, on the inside Louise was deeply sensitive and unfailingly devoted to her family; her creativity was the way she showed it.
Raise a glass to Weezie.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
