Marilyn F. Weix, age 87, of Abbotsford, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, October 20, 2023 at Colby Senior Care under the tender care of St. Croix Hospice.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 27, 2023 at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Abbotsford. Interment to follow at the Abbotsford Public Cemetery. Father Timothy Oudenhoven will officiate. Family and friends are welcome from 9:00 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church. Maurina-Schilling Funeral Home of Abbotsford is entrusted with the arrangements.
Marilyn was born on October 19, 1936, the daughter of Carl and Millie (Williams) Stark in Forest Lake, MN. She graduated from Forest Lake High School. On July 3, 1956, Marilyn was united in marriage to Leo Weix in Forest Lake, MN. He preceded her in death on November 9, 2020.
Marilyn worked at the Forest Lake Theater and West Publishing in St. Paul, MN before her marriage. After her marriage, she worked at Weinbrenner Shoes and St. Joseph's Hospital both in Marshfield, was a homemaker and volunteered at Green Vista Apartments. Marilyn was a member of St. Bernard where she taught CCD classes, sang in the church choir and was involved in the PCCW. She enjoyed gardening, canning, playing piano and playing bingo. Marilyn was also a member of the Homemaker's Society of Abbotsford. Most importantly, she loved and cherished her family.
Marilyn is survived by her five children: Brian (Carol) Weix, Theresa (Bill) Denzine, Sarah Weix (Ric Harris), Andrew Weix and Cynthia (Brian) Brandow; her daughter-in-law, Sheri Weix; six grandchildren: David Denzine, Phillip Weix, Becki (Kurt) Suleski Aaron Reise, Jessica (Josh) Short, and Emily Brandow; four great-grandchildren: Austin (Caitlin) Rupe, Logan Suleski, Kenlyn and Emersyn Short; two great-great-grandchildren: Charlotte and Frankie Rupe; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Peter and three siblings.
The family would like to thank St. Croix Hospice, especially, Nurse Lori, Pastor Jeff and the staff at Colby Senior Care for the care Marilyn and the family received.
