Marilynn Ruth Delin

Marilynn Ruth Delin was born July 3rd, 1938, in Tyler, Minnesota to William and Bernice Moritz. Marilyn grew up in the farmlands of Southwestern Minnesota near the tiny town of Balaton. She graduated from Balaton High School in 1956. She was raised in a close knit christian family, her father was a pastor. After graduation she attended Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Bachelor's degree in Education. Marilynn became an elementary teacher in the Minneapolis school district. She married Douglas Allen Delin a Navy veteran and Tacoma native June 24, 1967 at The Grand Avenue Church in Minneapolis. To their union was born one child Douglas David in 1969. Marilynn and Doug would enjoy 38 wonderful years together until Doug passed away of a sudden heart attack in 2005.
The Delin family moved to Washington State 40 years ago. Marilyn and Doug became part of the of the Old Neighborhood Church-Roosevelt Height Christian Church now known as Greater Heights COGIC. Marilyn faithfully served as the church secretary for nearly two decades until retiring in 2016.
Marilynn enjoyed various getaways and camping trips across the PNW. She loved the landscape from the Puget Sound to the mountains. Marilynn enjoyed reading, gardening, baking, cooking and scenery. She loved bird watching, sunsets and changing leaves in the fall. She had a special love for infants and young children but also dogs. In her golden years she faithfully read God's word and daily devotions. Marilynn enjoyed listening to hymns and watching ministry on Christian television stations.
Funeral service will be held Greater Heights COGIC 4819 South 12th Street Saturday, June 10, 2022, 11:00am. Visitation will be held 10am-11am.
