Marilynn (Taylor) Lucas, 88, of Barnesville, passed away Friday, August 1, 2025, at the Barnesville Hospital. She was born on September 10, 1936, the daughter of the late William and Elizabeth (Gauging) Taylor.

Marilynn was an educator and worked for many years in the Chardon School District, Willoughby School system. Her love for education, and children showed in all she did. She was a member of the Somerton United Methodist Church, 4-H Club, School Board member, an outstanding Softball player, Sheep Producers, Farm Bureau, Belmont County Senior Fair Board, and Ohio Valley Cattlemen's Association.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her late husband, Lester Francis Lucas, son, Bill Davis, daughter, Memory Valentine, grandson, James Francis Lucas, Jr. granddaughters, Audriana Lucas, and Stephanie Martin, 2 sisters, Marjorie Taylor, and Ann Lotshaw.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, James Lucas, Bethany Lucas, Rodney Lucas, Justin (Loretta) Miller and Linda French, 29 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 4-8 at the Wilson Funeral Home, 702 E. Main Street. Funeral Service, Friday, August 8, 2025, at 11am at the funeral home with burial to follow at Spring Valley Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations can be made to Wilson Funeral Home to help defray funeral cost.
