Marilynn A. Wormuth, 85, of Hancock, NY, died suddenly on Tuesday, March 10, 2026 at home. She was born on November 2, 1940 in Starlight, PA, the daughter of Raymond and Edith (Knapp) Geer.
Marilynn married Raymond Wormuth on March 29, 1969 in Hancock, NY.
Marilynn was very religious and had a deep faith in God. She loved her church, Emory United Methodist Church, and her church family. She enjoyed reading and shopping and, in her younger years, she liked crocheting and took pride in the things she made. You could often find her chatting on the phone with her friends.
Surviving are 3 children: Robin Russo, Gordon VanLoan III, and Michelle (Dan); 9 grandchildren: Jeremy, Michael, Raymond, Shelby, Nicole, Jackie, Carol Ann, Julieanne, and Angela; 26 great grandchildren; a brother, David (Linda) Geer; and many nieces and nephews. Marilynn was predeceased by her son, Chuck VanLoan; grandson, Jesse VanLoan; granddaughter, Kara Chykta; 2 great grandsons, Odin Storm VanLoan and Lucas VanLoan; and 6 brothers: Harold, Richard, Dennis, Donald, Carl, and Charles.
A celebration of Marilynn’s life will be held on a date to be announced.
Donations may be made in Marilynn’s memory to the Emory United Methodist Church, 89 E. Main St., Hancock, NY 13783.
