Marilynne Allaun Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Twiford Funeral Home - Outer Banks - Manteo on Mar. 27, 2026.
Marilynne Allaun, of Manteo, North Carolina, and formerly of Gloucester, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on March 23, 2026, after a long health battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Born on July 1, 1946, in Hampton, Virginia, she lived a full life of 79 years.

Marilynne attended East Carolina University and earned her elementary education teaching degree from High Point College. She always enjoyed being surrounded by kids, whether it was her students, or a house full of her children and all of their friends. Her love of the ocean and seaside sunsets brought Marilynne to the Outer Banks where she spent her remaining years closer to her daughter, Keri.

Marilynne is survived by her husband of 46 years, Sam Allaun of Manteo; her daughter Keri Simmons (Ian) and granddaughter Sara of Manteo; stepchildren Christy Borkowski, Adam Allaun, and grandchildren Jackson and Skylar Fulcher of Virginia Beach, Virginia. Also, a brother, Bill Freeman, of Elizabethtown, Kentucky.

Marilynne is preceded in death by her parents, William and Rose Freeman, and a son, Alex Allaun.

A private family service will be held at a later date to honor Marilynne's memory and to celebrate her life.

Twiford Funeral Homes, Outer Banks, is honored to assist the Allaun family. Condolences and memories may be shared on Marilynne's obituary page at www.TwifordFH.com.
