Marina Grace Obituary
Marina was the Director of Finance and Budget at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Prior to that she held positions at La Salle University and at Manor Junior College. In her free time, Marina was a tireless volunteer and an avid traveler. She was a lifelong Philly sports fan. Marina was also an athlete having run a marathon and many half marathons. She was also a competitive target shooter, former member of the Vesper Boat Club and the fierce drummer for the Double Happiness Dragon Boat team.
One of Marina's greatest joys was spending time with her beloved dog, Sprout, who accompanied her on walks and hospital visits where Sprout worked as a certified therapy dog. Patients and hospital staff were thrilled with their visits and Marina was so proud. Marina also created the Grace Humanitarian Award through her donations to the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital's Emergency Department. The award honors individuals locally, nationally and from around the world who provided exceptional, compassionate care to the most vulnerable of populations.
Marina is survived by her siblings, Fred Grace (Patricia), Margaret Grace (Will Weaver) and Matthew Grace and her beautiful dog, Sprout. Marina will also be greatly missed by her nephews, William Weaver (Anna) and their daughter Sophia, Clay Weaver and his sons, Colin & Riley as well as nephew Dominic Castelli (Erin Piretti) and their daughters, "The Dolls", Gianna (Gigi) & Alana (Lala). She is preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Patricia Grace.
Visitation will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023, from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Lambie Funeral Home, 8000 Rowland Avenue, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, 19136. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 11:00 am at St. David's Roman Catholic Church 316 Easton Road, Willow Grove, PA 19090.
Marina's memory will continue to live on through the lives of those she touched. We encourage friends and family to share their cherished memories and upload photos of Marina to her memorial page.

It has taken me awhile to write this post because I still cannot believe she is gone. Although I have only known Marina for about a year I feel like I have been friends with her for many many years. Of course I got to know her through Sprout and so enjoyed taking her around the hospital and see the joy on her face not only while visiting the patients but most importantly making the staff happy when they interacted with Sprout. As one of the nursing supervisors at Jefferson I would meet Marina every Sunday I worked mostly in the 10th street lobby and she would let Sprout go and she would run right into my arms we became so close. I often talked with Marina about getting my golden trained as a therapy dog and we could some day bring them in together. And now that will never happen. There are no words to say what a lovely person she was and would never let us take her picture with Sprout and the staff but we have many with Sprout and the staff I just wish she was in at least one of them. I hope you know how much joy and happiness she brought to everyone she came in contact with and will be so missed at Jefferson.

I will greatly miss seeing Marina and her beautiful Sprout at the hospital. Marina was such a caring and loving person. She brought smiles to patients and staff everytime she came to visit. I will miss her very much.
