Mario Oreste Labrada Gonzalez, age 52, passed away peacefully on October 26, 2025, at Oak Hill Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Yaneycy Justo, with whom he shared 27 years of marriage and 33 years of companionship.
Born in Puerto Padre, Cuba, Mario was the beloved son of Cipriano V. Labrada and Adelfina Labrada. In 1994, he courageously journeyed to the United States by boat with his family, arriving with nothing but the shirt on his back and a heart full of hope. He embraced the American dream, building a life rooted in love, laughter, and generosity.
Mario was a true jack of all trades and an entertainer at heart. He found joy in fishing, DJing, gardening, grilling, and cooking for others-his home was always full, and so were the bellies of those he welcomed. He had a gift for making people laugh and a spirit that radiated kindness, compassion, and selflessness. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand and made friends wherever he went.
Above all, Mario cherished his family and the life he built in his new homeland. His legacy is one of resilience, love, and the joy of bringing people together.
He is survived by his loving wife, Yaneycy Justo; his children: Melissa De La Torre (Yandrey), Marlienis Labrada, and Melanie Labrada; his grandson, Yanmario De La Torre, and one granddaughter on the way, Yanai De La Torre; his parents, Cipriano and Adelfina Labrada; his sisters, Marlenys Labrada and Magalys Labrada (Luis); his nieces, Marien Pinto (Jeremy) and Mercedes Contino (Justin); and great-nephews: Jeremy Luis, Jaythan, and Lucas.
The family has requested guests to wear colors other than black.
