Mario Scire Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home on Dec. 29, 2025.
Mr. Mario A. Scire, Jr., age 79, of Saugus, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 27th. He was the beloved husband of Marsha (Pelusi) Scire, with whom he shared 55 years of marriage.
Born in Revere, Mario was the son of the late Mario A. Scire, Sr, and Margaret (Cardinale) Scire, and was a lifelong resident of Saugus. He proudly served his country as a United States Marine, serving four years, including one year in Vietnam. Mario was immensely proud to be a Marine and often said, "Once a Marine, always a Marine," and that he would gladly serve again if called.
Following his military service, Mario began his career as a union carpenter, later becoming a general contractor and business owner. Over the years, he owned and operated several businesses, including a Lil Peach franchise, Mario's Cold Cuts, and Quimby's Restaurant, before ultimately returning to his passion for building homes.
Mario greatly enjoyed time spent with family and friends. He loved vacationing in Aruba, Florida, and Italy, always alongside close friends who were like family. He was very grateful and proud to have purchased a condo in Pompano Beach, where he enjoyed spending the last few winters. He spent many summers in Mashpee, where he enjoyed gathering with loved ones and doing one of his favorite pastimes, digging for clams. Above all, Mario cherished time with his family and took great pride in them.
In addition to his wife, Marsha, Mario is survived by his son, Paul Scire, and his wife Shannon of Lynnfield; his three granddaughters, Gianna, Olivia, and Anna Scire; his brother, Paul Scire of Haverhill; his sisters, Margaret Berkowitch and Joan Johnson, both of Saugus; and many loving nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Mario Scire and his sisters Anna Cappola and Josephine Billingsley.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Mario's memory may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at support.woundedwarriorproject.org.
