My father, sisters and I just heard this sad news about "Joe", nearly two months after his passing. Our dad is one of his two stepsons. He was our paternal grandmother's second husband, and we all have cherished memories of him while we growing up in Detroit during the 1950s and '60s. As adults we learned to appreciate quality conversations with him, as well as how much he loved our "Grandma Zito", who lived to be 99 years old under his tender care in Tennessee. He was one brilliant man, extremely well read and highly opinionated but always equipped with facts to back his views a really tough guy to debate, for sure! Down deep, he was kind and generous, and will always hold a special place in our hearts. May he rest in peace.

I just found out about Uncle Joe's passing this morning. He was married to my father's sister Elizabeth. He was a kind, gentle and generous person who really helped out our family in hard times. I had visited him several times in Tennesse and really cherish the many special moments and conversations with him. He will be missed!! Phillip
