Marion Angarano Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cornell Memorial Funeral Home on Jan. 20, 2025.
Marion Genevieve La Medica Angarano of Danbury, CT, formerly of Harrison, NY passed away peacefully on January 17, 2025.
She was born in Port Chester, NY on January 29, 1929, to Ida and Alphonse La Medica. After graduating from Harrison High School, she was employed by AT&T in White Plains, NY for over 40 years.
She started her career as an international telephone operator and worked her way up to head supervisor. She married Joseph (Hank) Angarano in 1947 and started her family soon after while continuing her career. Being adventurous, in her thirties she took flying lessons and solo parachuted out of a plane after taking only 8 hours of training. She started skiing at the age of 50 and playing golf at the age of 60.
She was a Campfire Girl Leader and taught Religious Education for St. Gregory the Great. As a member of The Harrison Players, she acted in several productions. She was a member of The Harrison Women's Club and The Red Hat Society. She always provided her grandchildren with opportunities to experience sports, theatre and wonderful adventures. They were her pride and joy.
She is predeceased by two brothers, Michael La Medica of Florida and Frank La Medica of Rhode Island and her beloved grandson-in-law Randall Wade of CT. She is survived by her daughter Adelaide Zaccagnino (Anthony), son Joseph Angarano, two granddaughters, Danielle Auriana (Michael), Rachelle Wade and four great grandchildren, Michael & Samantha Auriana and Miles & Ellis Wade. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Linda La Medica and many nieces and nephews.
Services will be privately held, and a Celebration of Life will take place at a future time. Thank you in advance for your sympathy and prayers.
