Anna Camp Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Laughlin Service Funeral Home & Crematory - Huntsville on Mar. 17, 2026.
Anna "Marion" Kurtts Camp, age 93, of Huntsville, AL, went to be with the Lord on Sunday March 15, 2026, after a brief illness in the hospital. Marion was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who was deeply loved by her family. She was born December 3, 1932, to the late Rose Veitch Kurtts and Joe Kurtts Sr. Marion was preceded in death by her brothers, Joe Kurtts, Jr. and Raymond Kurtts, and sisters, Mary Catherine Kurtts, Dorothy Schultz, and Evelyn Voytanovsky.

She is survived by her children, Gail Kimrey (David), Lynn Kitchings (Bill) and Morris Camp; six grandchildren, Blake Kitchings (April), Kelsey Sweeney (Devon), Sarah Kimrey, Rebecca Nunley (Ben), Rachel Morrow (Alex), and Andrew Kimrey (Sydney); and eleven great- grandchildren, Cameron Kitchings, Jackson, Harrison, Carter, Collier, and Hudson Nunley, Connor, Jace, and Sadie Sweeney, and Abby and Luke Morrow.

Marion grew up in West End (Birmingham), AL across from the famous Rickwood Baseball Field where they would listen to the baseball games at night in their front yard. She graduated from John Carroll High School before she moved to Huntsville in her mid-20's. She spent many years volunteering with her church and her children's schools and then worked for the Board of Realtors for 20+ years as well as for TaxServe as a tax preparer until she was 83!!

Most of all, Mimi, as she was affectionately called, loved her grandchildren and great- grandchildren dearly and cherished participating in every family gathering. She had a deep passion for the game of bridge, with a sharp mind and a competitive spirit. She continued to play even with her limited vision to the age of 93. She also enjoyed sharing breakfast with friends and family and spending time gardening in her front yard.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Wilson Shirley officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery following the service.
