Janet Ingleright Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Laughlin Service Funeral Home & Crematory - Huntsville on Mar. 17, 2026.
Janet Price Ingleright, 85, passed away on March 15, 2026, in Huntsville, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert Henderson Price Jr. and Elizabeth Moltenberry Price; her husband, George Adams Ingleright; her sister, Carol Howard; and her great-granddaughter, Riley Savage.

She is survived by her children, Debbie Bagby (John), Beth Cannon, and Buddy Ingleright (Traci); and her six grandchildren, John Thomas Leiner (Leigh), Elizabeth Savage (Mack), Daniel Leiner (Haley), Andrew Cannon (Joshlynn), Cassie Lewis (Derrick), and Jacob Cannon. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Price Clemons; her brother, Albert "Buddy" Price III (Janet); ten great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Janet was born on September 21, 1940, in Florence, Alabama. She graduated from Coffee High School in 1958, then attended Florence State University. There she was a majorette founding member and a proud Zeta sister. In 1962, Janet graduated with a degree in Home Economics and was married to her husband, George, for 55 years. She was a proud military wife and made many places her home, including but not limited to Ulm, Germany; Fort Bragg, North Carolina; Hattiesburg, Mississippi; Fort Leavenworth, Kansas; Fort Benning, Georgia; and Washington D.C., before they settled in Huntsville, Alabama with their three children.

Janet received her teaching degree in Early Childhood Education from Colombus College in Columbus, Georgia in 1979, and her Master of Special Education from University of Alabama Huntsville in 1987. She was a dedicated special education teacher at Mountain Gap Elementary from January 1984 until August 2013 where she impacted thousands of students and made life-long teacher friends. After a very brief retirement, Janet went back to the classroom as a Reading Interventionist at Montview Elementary School for three years before fully retiring.

Janet had a deep love for people and places. She was a faithful member of Latham Church. She often enjoyed traveling, spending quality time with her family and friends, playing bingo, watching shows put on by the Broadway Theater League, meeting up with her lunch group, watching sporting events, and enjoying the views and sunshine at the lake. She was also a proud breast cancer survivor and constantly found ways to support the cause.

Janet Price Ingleright will be remembered for her devotion to her faith, her constant presence in the lives of her family, her commitment to her students, and her generous, loving, and spunky personality.

A visitation will be held at Latham Church (109 Weatherly Road, Huntsville, Alabama) on Friday, March 20, 2026, from 10 to 11 a.m., with a service immediately following. Janet will be buried on Friday at 2 p.m. in Florence, Alabama at Greenview Memorial Park next to her husband.
