Marion Louise "Punkie" DeRoza

1944 - 2025

Marion "Punkie" Louise DeRoza passed away peacefully on October 20, 2025, after health complications. She was born on March 14,1944 in El Reno, Oklahoma before her family relocated to Winkleman, Arizona where she spent her childhood. During her teenage years they moved to Glendale where she attended high school and later the University of Arizona. She was always fond of Arizona and after college she got her first job working for the Arizona National Stock Show, while the rest of her family moved to California.

In her early twenties she moved to California to be with her family and resided in Hollister, Gonzales and then Salinas. She worked as a bookkeeper most of her life and volunteered her time at church and SVMH. Her favorite activities included riding and showing horses, cooking, needlepoint, playing card and board games, collecting western tack and artifacts, viewing wildlife and most of all, spending time with family and friends. She was very caring and kind-hearted to anyone that she met.

She is survived by her children, Tiffany (Josh) Batistich and Danny (Nicci) DeRoza; five grandchildren, Kapri, Sasha, Mallory, Caleb and Paige; her sister, Altia (Dan) Johnson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Buster and Marion Naegle; her brothers, Conrad and Luke Naegle; and her husband, Bill Martin.

Her memorial service will take place Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 2 pm at the Lincoln Avenue Presbyterian Church, located at 536 Lincoln Avenue. In lieu of flowers, please feel free to donate to your favorite charity in her honor.
