Obituary
Marion Joyce Duescher passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at the age of 93 at the Manitowoc Health and Rehab Center in Manitowoc. She was born in Ellisville, Kewaunee County on July 30, 1929 to John and Eleonora (Post) Karnopp. She married Gustave H. Duescher on October 11, 1949, son of Gustav and Myra (Bruemmer) Duescher. She farmed with her husband in Ellisville, her home farm. After farming she was very active, sold Avon Products for many years, worked at the Kewaunee Health Care Center in Laundry, worked in the Deli at Piggly-Wiggly and also waitressed at several places with Laurel and Gina. Later she moved to Manitowoc and lived with Laurel until she ended up in a home.
Survivors include a daughter, Laurel Castro; son and daughter-in-law: Brian and Debbie (Kickbusch) Duescher; four grandchildren: Emilio (Lisa) Castro, Gina (Castro) (Tony) Wellner, Desiree (Steve) Lambrecht, Bridget (Duescher) Cismoski; great grandchildren: Evan, Trevor Lambrecht, Liam Cismoski, Kinsley Castro, London Main, sisters-in-law: Janice Duescher and Becky Duescher, nieces and nephews and her pet cat, Fasa
She was preceded in death by her husband on March 20, 1982, her parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, two sisters: Isabell (Marvin) Dahlke and Irmgard (Wallace) Hoppe; two Brothers-in-law: Ortwin Duescher and Donald Duescher and two nephews: Daryl and Keith Hoppe.
Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 21 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee until the time of services. The Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Cole Bettivia of Grace Congregational Church, Two Rivers. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
Marion's family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Manitowoc Health and rehabilitation Center- the Reflections Wing, Chad and so many of the staff. Also to Jeremy and Carri Ann of Sharon Richardson Community Hospice and all their staff. Thank You
