Marion M. Gilbert

Marion M. Gilbert, 94, quietly passed away while reading her bible, early morning of February 4, 2026, at her daughter's residence in Nazareth. Born on January 25, 1932, in Flicksville, Marion was a daughter of the late Stanley and Ruth Albert Teel. She grew up with a loving family, and she carried that warmth throughout her life.
As a young girl, she attended Bangor High School. As a young woman, Marion was employed by Ideal Fashions in Pen Argyl. Later she worked and retired from A & H Sportswear in Pen Argyl. Her colleagues knew her as a reliable and kind-hearted individual who brought joy to the workplace. Marion always remained proud of her many years of dedication and service, having worked from 16-62 years of age.
Marion enjoyed the tranquility of canoeing with her husband Gerald. Perhaps this activity was an avenue through which she expressed her joy and her appreciation for God's creation. When at home, her hands were rarely idle, she loved to knit beautiful, hand-crafted pieces for her family and friends. And she belonged to a "knitting club" where socializing and sampling of sweets and snacks were priority.
Marion's Christian faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a long-time member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Plainfield Township, where she taught Sunday School, sharing her love for God with the younger generation. Later, she continued her spiritual journey as a Sunday School teacher and congregational member of the Faith Alive Church in Wind Gap.
Her faith-filled nature was evident in every interaction, every smile, and every hug she gave. Marion will be remembered as a loving mother, a doting grandmother, and a friend to all. Her passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit will continue to guide and comfort them.
Marion was the beloved wife of the late Gerald Gilbert, who passed away on August 14, 2016. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Pamela Beal and her husband Matthew of Nazareth, Jody Goffredo and her husband Mark of Roseto. Marion's legacy continues through her 6 grandchildren, Danielle, Mark, Jr., Michael, Ranae, Josiah, and Megan, and her 10 great-grandchildren. Additionally, she leaves behind her siblings: brother, Gerald Teel (Marlene), sister, Grace Stocker (Elwood, deceased) and brother Elwood Teel (LeeAnn). She was preceded in death by a sister, Romaine Hatesaul.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Tuesday, February 10, from 10-11am, at Faith Alive Community Church, 10 East Mechanic Street, Wind Gap, PA 18091. Funeral Services will begin at 11 am, in the church, with Rev. Matthew Whistler presiding. Interment will follow at Plainfield Cemetery.
