Marion was born on June 13, 1931 in Marshfield, WI to the late Arthur and Anna (Soltow) Bathke. She married Joseph Edward Hokamp on June 23, 1953 at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Wisconsin Rapids. Marion, along with her husband, Joseph, owned and operated Hokamp's Drive-In in Wisconsin Rapids for over 19 years. She also worked at Woolworth, Wisconsin Rapids Waterworks & Light, and for the Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools as a cook and baker. Marion was very active in her community serving as a Wood County Supervisor, and as a member of the Wisconsin Rapids City Council. She also was involved with the Coalition of Wisconsin Aging Group, and the Wood County Credit Union Board. In her free time, Marion enjoyed cooking, knitting, playing sheepshead, and being involved with her grandchildren's sporting events.
Though we grieve her loss, we find comfort in the countless joyful memories and the legacy of love she leaves behind. Marion will be deepest missed by all who knew and loved her.
Marion is survived by her children, Cindy (Gerry) Holberg, John (Rosemary) Hokamp, Marcy (Dale) Freeberg, Mary (John) Benbow, and Debra (Kevin) Wilderman; as well as 10 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren with one on the way.
Marion was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Hokamp; Parents, Arthur and Anna Bathke; sisters, Joyce Spohn, and Lillian Leberg; and great-granddaughter, Isla.
