Montie Kramer

Montie L. Kramer, age 64, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away at his home on Saturday, October 18, 2025.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 27, 2025, at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. A private family burial will follow at Pioneer Cemetery later that day.
Montie was born on January 7, 1961, to Elmer and Thelma (Mobley) Kramer in Marshfield, Wisconsin.
Montie worked alongside his father at Rustic Builders, where he first learned how to operate heavy equipment. Montie went on to earn his certification as a heavy equipment operator and proudly worked with the Operating Engineers Local 139 for over 25 years before retiring.
Montie was a proud member of the Quincy Masonic Lodge in Adams, Wisconsin, where he earned the 32° Scottish Rite in freemasonry. He was also the founding member of the ZOR MisFitz unit, serving as their Quarter Master, attending parades and fundraisers to raise money for the Shriners Children's Hospitals. Montie was deeply devoted to their mission, often volunteering his time to drive patients to their medical appointments.
Montie was a talented craftsman who enjoyed spending his time in his shop, working on motorcycles, snowmobiles, restoring vehicles, and building unique motor cars for Shriner parades.
An avid outdoorsman, Montie loved snowmobiling, fishing, hunting, and riding his motorcycle. He especially cherished traveling with his wife to the Tomahawk area, Copper Falls in Glidden, and the Dells of Eau Claire.
Christmas was Monties favorite holiday, and he took great joy in preparing breakfast with his father for his family. A gifted cook, Montie also enjoyed southern-style cooking, grilling, and smoking a variety of meats for his friends and family. He just loved feeding people!
Above all, Montie loved his grandchildren most. A lifelong animal lover, he always had a loyal pet by his side. Oscar will miss dearly.
Montie is survived by his wife Debbie; father Elmer; daughter Nicole (Anthony) Cattanach; grandchildren: Trenton Holstein, Kayla Holstein, Aiden Cattanach, and Gavin Eggebrecht; two great-grandchildren; siblings Judy (Ted) Mason, Shelby (Larry) Harper, and Lori (Dave) Steinhilber, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his mother Thelma, and niece Kelley Mason Davis, along with his grandparents.
