Susan K. Marcouex, age 77, of Wisconsin Rapids, passed away Thursday, October 16, 2025 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital surrounded by loved ones.
The funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 25, 2025 at Herman-Taylor Funeral Home in Wisconsin Rapids. Burial will be at a later date at East Arkdale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services on Saturday at the funeral home.
Susan was born August 8, 1948 in Wisconsin Rapids to Robert and Muriel (Olson) Lageunesse. She was an in-home daycare provider, worked at Dairy State Cheese and Arpin Dairy, and did home healthcare until her retirement.
Susan's life was marked by her dedication to her loved ones, never missing a birthday party or family event. She poured her heart into her kitchen, crafting the comforting warmth of homemade soups, her famous strawberry poke cake, and the melt-in-your-mouth magic of her chocolate chip brownie bars. Her love for her family was baked into every dish she created, and each bite was a testament to her nurturing spirit and selfless love.
She was the epitome of a loving mother and grandmother, known by many even outside her family as "Grandma Sue". Her legacy will live on through the love she shared and the memories she helped create.
Susan is survived by four children: Chris Marcouex of Pipestone, MN, Mark (Brenda) Marcouex of Nekoosa, Debra (Alfredo) Casas of Wisconsin Rapids, and Denise Marcouex of Wisconsin Rapids; grandchildren: Nathan (Joseph) Arndt of West Bend, Briana Arndt (Daniel Gildenzoph) of Wisconsin Rapids, Megan (Michael) Cournoyer of Wisconsin Rapids, Tara (Jordan) Pierce of Omro, Alexis (Ryan) Del Bello of Houston, TX, Kendra (Sam) Schwanebeck of Pittsville, Samantha Mattson of Milwaukee, Jacob Cattanach of Wisconsin Rapids, Jasmine Cisca of Wisconsin Rapids, Mercedes Marcouex of Plover, Sequoia Gales of Wisconsin Rapids, Kinyari Marcouex of Wisconsin Rapids, and Mylek Crawford of Wisconsin Rapids; and 29 great-grandchildren (with five more on the way). She is further survived by her sister Barb Zbleski of Wisconsin Rapids; sisters-in-law Rita Zindorf and Diane (Stanley) Miller; and her best friend Promise. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter Tina Marcouex; grandchildren Trequelle Vann-Marcouex and Tamika Marcouex-Graves; great grandchildren Taniyah Nicole, Devonte Damone Jr., and Bristol Marie; brother James Lageunesse; brother-in-law Eugene Zbleski; and longtime companion, Robert Frei.
The family would like to thank Synergy Home Healthcare and Aspirus Wausau Hospital ICU for the exceptional care Susan was given.
Herman-Taylor Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family.
