Marion A. Jacobson, 96, of Lake Park, MN, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at Essentia Health, Fargo, ND.
Marion was born November 13, 1927, in Pasadena, CA, to Victor and Edna (Olson) Dahlberg. At an early age, the family moved to Lake Park, where they made their home on the family farm. Marion attended Lake Park High School and following graduation, she moved to New York where she worked at Western Union during WWII. Marion married Ernest Jacobson in 1947. Over the years they also lived in Hot Springs, SD, St. Cloud, MN, Minneapolis, MN, Brecksville, OH, Saginaw, MI, and Marion, IN. After Ernest retired in 1983, they moved back to Cormorant Township to be near their family and friends.
Marion enjoyed staying active in the community. She loved to volunteer and was passionate about supporting AARP of Becker County and was an ombudsman for senior citizens. She took pride in her hard work with the TOPS club, where she attained her goal weight and kept it off. Marion was a member of Strandvik Lutheran Church and spent many hours with the quilting group and giving her time to the needs of the church. She and Ernest also enjoyed square dancing, socializing with friends, and loved spending time with family.
She is survived by her children, Laurie Jacobson and Bruce Jacobson; nieces, Carolyn Paseka and Ginnie Hanley; and nephews, Jerry Jacobson and Paul Jacobson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest.
