Lawrence “Larry” Duane Crose was born on September 23, 1938, in Minneapolis, MN, to Ralph and Bettie (Colehour) Crose. He died on January 27, 2026, at Northern Lights Assisted Living, Ulen, MN.

Larry graduated from Minneapolis South High School and graduated from St. Cloud State University.

After college, Larry taught school in Litchfield, MN; Franklin, MN; and Gibbon, MN. He then owned a flower shop in Park Rapids, MN.

Larry joined the military in 1957, first with the Coast Guard, then the Army National Guard, and finally Active Army, retiring in 1998 with the rank of Lt. Colonel. He achieved numerous awards while in the military.

Larry married Millicent Gole on December 21, 1961. From that marriage, three children were born. Kathy (Mike) Rieckman, Kris (Neil) Mullaney, and Karl (Mia) Seitz. They later divorced.

Larry married Carol Price on October 26, 1991, in Duluth, MN. He gained two daughters and one son. Lonnie (Darren) Carlson, Laura Weinberger (Ron), and Bryan (Christy) Zingraf. Larry has 13 grandchildren; Matt, Sam, Kara, Nick, Brittany, Kai, Ruby, Leo, Whitney, Jake, Olivia, Nick, and Cody. He has two great grandchildren, Noah and Eliot.

Larry was active in many organizations such as the Hitterdal Go Getters, Lions Club, and Kiwanis Club. He was also active within his church, Salem Lutheran Church, Hitterdal, MN.

Larry and Carol went on many trips. Larry's favorite places were Duluth, Banff, Canada, and Alaska. They spent many winters in Apache Junction, Arizona.

Larry and Carol resided at Northern Lights Assisted Living in Ulen, MN. The family wishes to thank the staff at Northern Lights for their wonderful care.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph and Bettie; sisters, Barbara, Connie (Crose) Erickson, and infant brother, Charles. Larry is survived by his wife, Carol, brothers, Dick and Jim, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 17, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour before the service at Wright Funeral Home, Hawley, MN with burial after at Salem Lutheran Cemetery, Hitterdal, MN.
