Marion Harvey "M.H." Kitchens

Mr. Marion Harvey “M.H.” Kitchens, Jr., age 79, entered into eternal rest on December 1, 2025. Born on October 12, 1946, to parents Marion Harvey Kitchens, Sr., and Pearl Sanders Kitchens, M.H. was a long-time resident of Candler County. He attended North Georgia Technical College in Clarkesville, GA where he met his wife, Luana. He served our country as a sergeant in the Army for almost 6 years before attending Bruneau University and later working as a Purchasing Manager for WM Wrigley, Jr. Chewing Gum Company. He resided in Gainsville, GA for many years where he and Luana raised their family.

M.H. was a member of Cedar Street Baptist Church. He enjoyed tinkering with mechanics, boating, golfing, riding motorcycles and spending time in the great outdoors. He loved spending time with his family, most of all his wife, Luana Kitchens. M.H. considered it his full-time job to keep her happy.

In addition to his parents, M.H. is preceded in death by his sisters, Faye Wells and Sandra Rigdon.

Those who will cherish M.H.’s memory include his son and daughter-in-law, William “Bill” and Rosemary Kitchens; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Brandon Loyd; grandchildren, Cole, Cameron, and Courtney Kitchens, and Preston and Carter Loyd; great-grandchild, Luke Kitchens; nephews, Brian, Tony and Tim; nieces, Jennifer, Julie, June, and Jean, as well as several other, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral service will take place on Saturday, December 6, 2025, beginning at 11 AM at Kennedy Funeral Home, Hooks Chapel of Metter. The family will receive friends for visitation prior to the service from 9:30-11 :00 AM. Burial will follow the funeral service at Lake Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Cedar Street Baptist Church in honor of Mr. Kitchens.
