Barbara Ann Grooms Fennell, of Pembroke, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Hospice Savannah.
Born on January 13, 1952, in Columbia, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Roland Grooms, Sr. and Annie Cox Grooms. Barbara spent her early years in Columbia before relocating to Savannah, where she made her home for the remainder of her life.
Barbara devoted much of her career to working as a waitress, a profession in which she took great pride, before retiring several years ago. She was a woman of Baptist faith and found her greatest joy in spending time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Tina Lynn Murray; her sister, Cathy Mitchell; her brothers, William “Bill” Grooms and Roland Grooms, Jr.; her grandchildren, Savannah Fennell (John), Mike Murray, Jr., and Dalton Millek (Lauren); seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at the Group Shelter at Fort McAlister.
Kennedy Funeral Homes, Hooks Chapel of Metter, is entrusted with the arrangements.
