Marion Barbara Murphy

Murphy, Marion Barbara (nee Monro), age 93, of Midland Park passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

Born in Ridgewood, Barbara grew up in Paramus and resided in Midland Park for the last 45 years. She was the former owner of two transportation businesses alongside her husband, Ridgewood Taxi and D&K Transport. In her spare time, Barbara loved to gamble and visit casinos. Some of her favorite games were poker, roulette, slot machines, and bingo. Barbara also enjoyed going to garage sales and visiting her former vacation home in Mexico, NY. Throughout her life, Barbara had a good sense of humor and a kind soul, she was always there to support her family in their time of need.

Barbara was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth A. Murphy (2008) for 54 years. Loving mother of Patty Sansone and her late husband John of Whiting, Archie Flynn and her husband Mike of Lake Hopatcong, the late Kenneth Murphy, Jr. (1991), Nancy Rosa and her husband Mario of Midland Park, and Jane Phillips of Midland Park. Dear Ranny of Michele Flynn, the late Kristy Flynn (2022), Ashley Britcher and her husband Tyler, Aimee Sansone and her fiancé Sam Curtis, Mikey Rosa and his girlfriend Morgan, and Kendra Iri and her husband Atilla. Great Ranny of Jayden and Kynsley. Predeceased by her two brothers, David and Edward. She was also survived by many dear nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 2, 2026, at Browning-Forshay Funeral Home, 557 Lafayette Avenue, Hawthorne. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Ramapo Bergen Animal Refuge.
