Marion Adele Ott, 79, of Minneapolis, MN passed away peacefully on February 25, 2026 in Alexandria, Virginia.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Cherokee, Iowa on April 2, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Boothby Funeral Home located at 207 E. Main Street. Pastor Merritt Demski will officiate. Interment will follow at Cherokee Memory Gardens. The family will greet guests at the funeral home beginning at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service on April 2nd. Online condolences may be left at www.boothbyfuneral.com.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on March 26, 2026 at 3:30 p.m. at Albiitan Mill City, her place of residence in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Friends in Virginia will gather at her church in Arlington for a Celebration of Life on April 11, 2026.

Marion was born on July 27, 1946 in LeMars, Iowa to Carl Christian and Lucille Coral (Piepgras) Ott. She attended Trinity Lutheran grade school in rural Marcus, Iowa and graduated from Meriden-Cleghorn Community School in 1964.

After high school, Marion relocated to Arlington, Virginia and took a job working for The Office of Secretary of Defense from 1964 – 1972. From 1972 – 2002, she was an Administrative Analyst for the U.S. Courts.

She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Arlington, Virginia, where she was a substitute organist, sang in the choir, played hand bells, taught Sunday School and served as congregational president.

Marion enjoyed travel and seized the opportunity to see places around the globe as well as the United States. She often traveled to attend celebrations for her siblings, nieces, and nephews. Special times at home included baking for friends and gathering with them for board games.

She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Judith Meyer, nephews Lynn Ott and Bradley Wolf.

Marion is survived by siblings, Richard (Jeannette) Ott of Cleghorn, Iowa, Margaret Gianopoulos of Fernley, Nevada, Laurie (Max) Wolf of Scottsdale, Arizona; 9 nieces and nephews; 18 great nieces and nephews; special friend Pete Voth and a wide circle of friends that she loved as family.
