Marion Reed

Marion A. Reed, 82, passed away December 23, 2025 at her home in Park City. She was born February 8, 1943 in Saint Andrew, Barbados. Marion was the first in her lineage to immigrate to the United States and would be the driving force for many of her family members to follow suit. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Lake Forest and most recently, St. Paul AME Church in Glencoe, IL. Marion loved to shop, she had an impeccable style, but most of all she loved to host and cook for her family. She will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her son, Michael (Claudia) Merritt; two brothers, Michael and Theodore Johnson; and by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral service will be held at Noon, Thursday, January 15, at St. Paul AME Church, 336 Washington Ave., Glencoe, IL 60022. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at church.
