Marion Stanback Obituary

Marion Warren Stanback of Charlotte, NC passed away peacefully on February, 7, 2025. She was born October 17, 1930 in Raleigh, NC to the late Thomas Julian Warren Sr. and Gladys Thomas Warren.
Marion graduated from Cameron High School, Cameron, NC and received a BA degree from High Point University. She received a ME degree from Winthrop University. She spent 32 years as an elementary school teacher in Charlotte and retired in 1994.
Marion was a member of Steel Magnolias, an alumni group of High Point University. She was also a long time member of Matthews United Methodist Church where she was active in the Elizabeth Patrick Sunday School class and the Delia Lemmond Circle.
In addition to her parents Marion was proceeded in death by her husband of 65 years, Wallace Braxton Stanback Jr. and her brother Thomas Julian Warren Jr. She is survived by daughters Sharon Elam and husband Nick of Stanley, NC and Jayne Campbell and husband Tom of Atlanta, GA, grandchildren Michelle Elam Ormaza and husband Michael of Brentwood, TN, Brian Elam and wife Elizabeth of Raleigh, NC, Ashley Campbell Fennelly and husband Chris of Atlanta, GA, and Taylor Campbell Goldstein and husband Brad of Atlanta, great grandchildren Caleb, Jacob. Issac and Faith Ormaza, Reed, Wes and Kate Elam, Campbell Fennelly and Romi Goldstein.
Services will be held at Matthews United Methodist Church at 801 South Trade St., Matthews, NC on Friday, February 14th, 2025 at 11:00AM. The family will receive friends at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn East at 3709 Forest Lawn Drive in Matthews, NC.
Memorial contributions may be made to Matthews United Methodist Church or the charity of ones choice. The family is being served by Heritage Funeral Home.
