Marion Stasik Obituary

Marion "Barney" Stasik passed away at home Monday. She was the widow of Edward J. Stasik, who died Jan. 12, 2008.

Born in Scranton on Aug. 15, 1928, to the late Joseph and Mary Condrige Sahara, she was a graduate of West Scranton High School class of 1946 and had been employed by the Scranton School District. Marion was a lifelong member of SS. Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church in West Scranton, and was also a member of the Senior Adult Club of the Jewish Community Center.

Marion is survived by daughters, Ruthie and her companion, Frank Serino, Scranton; and Laure Stasik, of Scranton; three grandchildren, Chris (Sarah) Stasik, Thomas (Raquel) Stasik and Paul Stasik (Dan Smith); four great-grandchildren, Briana Stasik, Ashton Amos, Tucker Patout and Eddie Stasik; and daughter-in-law, Jeane Stasik, Summerville, S.C.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Paul Stasik.

Private burial of ashes with her favorite daily rosary and blessing service will be held at a later date.
