Marion Young, age 102, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 19, 2025, in Wheaton, Illinois. She was born March 14, 1923, in Knoxville, Tennessee to Paul and Ella Clark.

Marion attended high school in Knoxville, Tennessee and Moody Bible Institute in Chicago from 1944 -1947. While at Moody, Marion worked the switchboard at Scripture Press. Marion met her soon-to-be husband Clarence (Bud) Young while working there.

Bud and Marion were married in 1949. In 1952 the couple entered full time missionary service to Japan under the Far Eastern Gospel Crusade (SEND). In 1953 the couple was sent to teach at a new school on the outskirts of Tokyo called Christian Academy in Japan (CAJ).

Marion's primary focus was raising four children, Beth, Rodney, Nathan, and Amy. She also found time to teach Home Economics and help lead the school's Pioneer Girls Club. Bud's primary focus was education, teaching Art, Humanities, and Latin.

The Young family returned to Wheaton, Illinois in 1970. Marion drove a school bus for special needs children and learned sign language. In 1977 Bud and Marion moved to Elgin, IL. Marion began a craft business and together they had many successful years as crafters specializing in country décor. They were married for 72 years until Bud passed in 2021.

Marion was always full of energy and loved to cook Japanese meals for her extended family. As a long time member of Wheaton Bible Church, she served in the Missionary Circle and used her sign language skill for the morning services.

She is survived by their children, Beth Densmore, Rodney (Rea) Young, Nathan (Ruth) Young and Amy (Steve) Horne, 3 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Services will be privately held.

Memorial gifts may be directed to Wheaton Bible Church Mission, 27W500 North Ave., West Chicago, IL 60185 wheatonbible.org
