MARIUS AMBROSE

Marius Ambrose departed this life at his residence on Friday, December 26, 2025, at the age of 59. He was a native of St. Lucia, and a resident of Harvey, LA. Marius was a graduate of La Ressource, Vieux Fort, St. Lucia. “Dick”, Uncle Dicka, and “Sauce Powl”, as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was employed with the Jefferson Parish Public School System at Woodmere Elementary School as a custodian. He was a former employee of St. Lucia Fisheries and Southwell Supermarket Extension as a dedicated driver. Beloved husband of Thecla F. Joseph. Loving father of Elka Prince, Shawn Joseph, and Noelina St. Anges. Bonus father of Alicia Joseph, Vincent, Jr., Verna, and Vernessa Charles. Son of the late Thomas and Judith Ambrose. Brother of Pius Ambrose, Gesnal Descarte, and Greg Victorin all of St. Lucia, Beatrice Tull and her husband of Barbados, Flora Sanganoo, and Angelina Ambrose of St. Lucia. Brother in law of Francis Gardon, also survived by 6 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life at Westbank United Seventh Day Adventist Church 2401 General Meyer Ave. New Orleans, LA on Friday, January 30, 2026, at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m., at the above named church.
