Mark Stephan Dragan - loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend - passed away from blood cancer at home in Alhambra, CA on Wednesday, July 10, 2024.
Mark was born to Stanislaw and Marianna Dragan in Przejma, Poland on September 10, 1946. He moved with his parents and three siblings, Gabriella, Joseph, and Richard, to Alhambra, CA when he was 14 years old.
He graduated from San Gabriel Mission High School and went on to a 35 year career at the Department of Motor Vehicles. He was dedicated, innovative, and always seeking to support his coworkers and clients. Even after hours, he loved to use his knowledge and skills to help friends and family with registrations and other paperwork needs. It was his joy to make the lives of others a little bit easier.
Mark and Barbara married on May 30, 1981 and the following year welcomed their only daughter Maureen. They moved back to their family home in Alhambra and eventually purchased a home in the same community in which he had spent most of his life. He was married to his wife for 43 years and lived in the home where he passed for over 30. He quickly owned being a Dzia Dzia and loved talking with his three grandchildren, Daniel, James and Kaitlyn. They cherished him and were always eager to share their treasures and talents when they were together.
Through the years, Mark enjoyed playing golf, fixing up classic cars, visiting friends, casino trips and poker nights. He was a generous friend and neighbor. Mark loved to share good food with family and friends. He enjoyed collecting fresh fruit from the trees in his yard and sharing them with neighbors. Mark was a man who always shared the best of whatever he had with others.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother Joseph. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; their daughter Maureen; son-in-law Ben; three grandchildren, Daniel, James, and Kaitlyn; sister, brother, and nieces and nephews.
