Marizsa Maldonado Arrazola, 28, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on February 25, 2026. Marizsa fought cancer with courage and grace. She was born on July 15, 1997, in Abilene, TX, to Gumaro Sr. and Viky Maldonado Arrazola. She graduated from Abilene High School in 2015 and worked at the Abilene State Supported Living Center for 8.5 years. She was known for her strong work ethic and her ability to make friends easily.
Marizsa was a force of nature-hilarious, quick witted, and kind. She could make you laugh until you cried, and her contagious laugh lit up every room she entered. She touched countless lives and was deeply loved by many. In September 2024, she welcomed her daughter, Rozia Arrazola, who became her pride and joy.
Within her family, Marizsa was lovingly known as "La Reyna." She was family oriented and always willing to lend a helping hand. Family meant everything to her. She cherished being a daughter, sister, and Tía to all her nieces and nephews. Marizsa was also known for her impeccable sense of style-always keeping up with the latest trends. Above all, becoming a mother was the greatest blessing God had given her.
Marizsa was preceded in death by her paternal and maternal grandparents; her brother, Baby Jose Arrazola; her nephew, Jose Michael Arrazola; and several other beloved family members.
She is survived by her parents, Gumaro Sr. and Viky Maldonado Arrazola; her daughter, Rozia Arrazola; her siblings: Jose Antonio Arrazola (wife Dominique Arrazola), Marisol Delacruz (husband Manuel Delacruz III), Juana Arrazola, Gumaro M. Arrazola (partner Emily), Pablo Arrazola, Hilda Arrazola, and Teresa Arrazola; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
The love and impact Marizsa leaves behind will be cherished forever in our hearts. She will be greatly missed.
