Marjorie A. Alfson

A Memorial Service for Marjorie Alfson of Cyrus will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus with Rev. Chris Richards officiating. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be in St. Petri Cemetery in Cyrus at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 14, 2025, prior to the visitation.

Marjorie Ann Larson was born on September 25, 1929 in Starbuck, Minnesota the daughter of Gunard and Katherine (MacIver) Larson. She was baptized and confirmed in St. Petri Lutheran Church.

Marjorie was employed by various businesses, the longest being the Cyrus Public Schools for 18 years.

She married Orrin Alfson in 1947. Orrin and Marjorie had four daughters: Annelle, Janis, Yvonne and Wendy.

Marjorie Alfson died Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, MN. She was 95 years old.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Orrin; daughter, Annelle; parents, Gunard and Katherine Larson; sisters, Donna Felt, Gloria Larson and Susan Solvie; two brothers, Charles Larson and John Larson; grandson, Connor Gregory; son-in-law, Eugene Gregory and nephew, Kurt Asmus.

She is survived by her daughters, Janis Deetz of Cyrus, Yvonne Alfson of Cyrus and Wendy Gregory of Seabeck, WA; grandsons, EJ (Mary) Gregory and David Lee Deetz; sisters, Joyce Hansen (Clarence Hansen), Lynn Asmus (Keith Asmus) and Cheryl Larson and great grandchildren, Charlie, Maeve and Sally Gregory.
