Marjorie (Marge) Elizabeth Atkinson, 76, of Lafayette, Colorado, went be with her Lord, Jesus Christ, on September 19, 2025, surrounded by love in her own home.

Marge was born on January 11, 1949, in Chicago, Illinois, to Ed and Betty Atkinson. In 1961, she moved with her family to Denver, where she later graduated from Aurora Hinkley High School in 1967. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Biblical Studies from the College of the Rockies in 1972.

Throughout her life, Marge worked in secretarial positions and as a tax professional, but she found joy in the simple and beautiful parts of life. She adored her dog, Joey; he was her constant companion. She cherished the outdoors, and spent many wonderful days hiking, camping, and cross-country skiing. She delighted in tending her garden, knitting, and Starbucks coffee. Throughout her life she had a strong love of music and played several instruments.

Her family provided the greatest joy in her life; she was a fierce competitor in Scrabble and was always ready to play a game of cards. She developed many strong friendships over the years and cared deeply for her community of friends.

Marge's faith was the cornerstone of her life. She loved the Lord deeply and participated in Bible studies and church activities. Her quiet strength, kindness, and faithful spirit touched the lives of all who knew her.

She is survived by her brother, Tom Atkinson (Cathy); sister-in-law, Jeanne Atkinson; nephew, David Atkinson; nieces, Allison Adams (Scott), Whitney Langlois (Kevin), and Amy Gast (Cheyne); as well as nine beloved great-nieces and nephews.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents, Ed and Betty Atkinson; her brother, Dr. Kenneth Atkinson; her niece, Kendall Atkinson; and her nephews, Taylor Atkinson and Andrew Atkinson.

Marge will be deeply missed by her family, her many friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of faith, love, and quiet perseverance will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind.

There will be a service honoring Marge on Saturday, October 4th at 1:00 in the afternoon, at Calvary Bible Church, 615 Evans St., Erie, CO, 80516.

Marge requested that, instead of flowers, any donations be made to The KATA Fund at Fanconi Cancer Foundation, 360 E 10th Ave, Ste 201, Eugene, OR, 97401.
