Marge DiMasi: A Life Full of Love, Dedication, and Family
Marjorie Jane DiMasi (née Zeug), beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and community leader, passed away peacefully on February 3rd, surrounded by family, in Highland Village, Texas.
Marjorie was born and raised in the quaint town of Leonia, New Jersey, just a short drive from bustling New York City. As the youngest of four siblings-Shirley, Don and Carol-she grew up in a close-knit family. Her father, William Zeug, ran a sweater mill in Union City, while her mother Anne (née Wendhart), devoted herself to raising their children.
In her twenties, Marge embarked on a career as an Administrative Assistant for a neurosurgeon at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. It was during this time that she met her sweetheart, Thomas Vincent DiMasi. The couple celebrated their union at Jerry's Villa in Montvale, NJ, and were blessed with three children: Christopher (Nicole Rubick), William (Nicole Thomas) and Kimberly (Chris Kurtis). They made their home in Norwood, a small town not far from where Marge grew up.
Marge was deeply involved in her community, often seen driving her Chevy station wagon to baseball and soccer games. She played a pivotal role in the Northern Valley Soccer Club, helping to establish and grow the organization during her time as President. Her dedication to local politics, alongside her late husband Tom, further highlighted her commitment to her town and community.
For 25 years, Marge served as a Legislative Aide for Assemblyman John Rooney of New Jersey's 39th District, where her hard work and dedication were greatly valued. After retiring, she moved to Arizona to be closer to her son Christopher, her grandchildren, and her late sisters Shirley and Carol. Eventually, she relocated to Texas when Christopher accepted a position at a law firm in Dallas.
Marge's passions included bowling, crossword puzzles, cheering on the NY Yankees, cooking shows, and enjoying good food. Above all, she cherished her role as "Granny" to her eight grandchildren, affectionately referred to as her "dollies." She was adored by Tommy, Tyler, Gabe and Beckett of Highland Village, Texas; triplets Julia, Braddock, & Griffin of
Wyckoff, New Jersey; and Kalliope & Christopher of Valparaiso, Indiana.
Marge DiMasi's life was a testament to love, dedication, and the joy of family. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. A private viewing will be held with immediate family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The
