Marjorie L. Ely

Our mother, Marjorie LaFern Ely, went to be with the Lord on January 25, 2023. She was the daughter of Orin and Verlah Keller, born on August 5, 1930. She had four brothers, Richard, Robert, Ron, and Larry who have all preceded her in death.
Marty married Marvin Ely on September 14, 1947. They had three children, Karen (Douglas) Londo, Terry (Mary) Ely, and Jan (Dick) Sprague. She lived the majority of her life in Morenci, Michigan. She preceded in death by her husband, son, and both her sons-in-law. Doug Londo and Greg Sprague. She has five grandchildren; Jeffrey (Julie) Londo, Marcel (Brad) Martin, Amanda (Justin) Stroud, Sarah (Eric) Salenbien, and Rachel (Eric) Nichols. She has two step-grandchildren, Jason (Kim) Decker and Steve (Lucinda) Decker. She also has eight great grandchildren, Judah (Brooklin), Ella, Owen, Cora, Mira, Ryan, Adelaide, and Lucas.
Marty was so creative. She was a wonderful seamstress, but also loved knitting, crocheting, smocking, and quilting. Her creative talents also were expressed in painting and ceramics. Marty and Marvin loved to travel both in the United States and abroad. Later in life, they belonged to a local camping group. As parents, they wanted their children to explore the world, whether by camping or touring.
Marty was a lifelong member of the Morenci United Methodist Church. She was very active in the church, serving in many capacities. Marty and Marvin were also active in the Haines City, Florida United Methodist Church, where they worshiped during fall and winter months. After their retirement from farming and Keller's John Deere Supply and Service, they relocated to Devil's Lake.
She will be buried in Morenci, Michigan. There will be visitation at the Eagle-Marry Funeral Home in Morenci beginning at 12:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service for all her family and friends at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, 2023. Interment will be private.
