Marjorie Ann Pasma, age 94 entered into eternal rest on May 12, 2025. Born December 24, 1930 in Borculo, Michigan to John and Elizabeth Bouwman (Bosch). At age 13 her family moved to California where she attended Ripon Christian School. After graduation she attended Highland Hospital in Oakland with her two friends, Anita Marsman and Nellie Mae Kamps, where they received their RN degrees. She married Arnold Pasma on December 24, 1952 and was married for 64 years until Arnold's passing on July 27, 2017. She worked as an RN for several years at area hospitals and served as President of Hospice in San Joaquin County as well as the Director of Nursing at Bethany Home. She was a charter member of Immanuel Christian Reformed Church where she started the Calvinette (GEMS) program. She and Arnold were active with the Red Cross helping out at many disaster sites. Traveling was what she and her husband enjoyed which included Pinecrest, Palm Springs and Arizona in their RV. Travels also included trips to Brazil, Taiwan, the Netherlands and regular visits to Michigan to visit family.
Marjorie leaves behind her children Michael (Barbara) Pasma, Melinda (LeRoy) Costa, Tamara (Roger) Auwers, grandchildren AJ (Kristina) Pasma, Jason (Carol) Pasma, Keith (Catherine) Pasma, Elisabeth Auwers, Curtis (Kaitlin) Pasma, Danielle (Alex) Scalzo, Ashley (Tim) Enserink, Stephanie Auwers, Amy Costa (Fiancé Justin Parham),18 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, brother Don (Alyce) Bouwman, sister Shirley (Alvin) Meiste, sister in laws Patricia Bouwman and Kris Bouwman. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers John (Bud) and Ron and sister Harriet Mulder.
Visitation will take place on Friday May 23, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Deegan-Ripon Memorial Chapel,111 S. Palm Ave. in Ripon. A graveside service will be at Ripon Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 24 and is open to all friends and family. A Celebration of Life will follow at Immanuel Christian Reformed Church, 517 Orange Ave, Ripon, at 11:00 a.m.
