Marjorie (Simpson) Preston, passed peacefully from this life, on September 13, 2025, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of faith, family, and unwavering strength that will echo for generations.

Marjorie Ann Simpson, the daughter of Fred Simpson and Mildred and Leo Crowley was born on January 4, 1932.

On July 12, 1950, she was united in marriage to Virgil Preston in Blue Earth, Minnesota. After their marriage, the couple lived and farmed in rural Armstrong.

Marge lived with a servant's heart. Her love showed up in everyday ways-in the meals she prepared, the hands she held, the games she cheered at, and the prayers she lifted. She was a steady presence at ball games, livestock shows, school concerts, and awards days-always in the crowd, always proud. Her joy was in showing up for her people. She was best known in the kitchen, where her fresh buns, soft sugar cookies, and homemade pies became treasured family traditions. Whether feeding a harvest crew or baking for a gathering, Marge found joy in serving others with warmth and generosity.

She loved the simple beauty of life on the farm she built alongside her husband, Virgil. Together, they created more than a home-they created a legacy. During harvest season, Marge could be found behind the wheel of the grain cart for many years, working hard and still managing to have meals ready on time. Her work ethic was matched only by her love for those she served.Marge was a woman of deep and abiding faith. She walked closely with God and trusted Him in every season.

A devoted member of the Presbyterian Church in Armstrong, IA, she lived her beliefs with grace, humility, and quiet conviction. Her Bible was well-worn, her prayers constant, and her trust in God unwavering. She loved being outdoors-mowing the lawn, driving the gator down to the mulberry bush for a quick treat, or sitting in her rocker, face tilted toward the sun. Even in stillness, she radiated so much warmth.Marjorie's life was a blessing to everyone who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who carry forward her values of love, faith, and steady grace. While we grieve her absence, we find peace knowing she is now resting in the arms of her Savior. "Well done, good and faithful servant."

Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Paul Preston and his wife, Jane of Swea City, Iowa; Mark Preston and his wife, Kathy of Armstrong; daughter, Peggy Wegner and her husband, Kevin of Estherville, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Autumn Larsen and her husband, Jared; Mitchell Preston and his wife, Amy; Chelsea Reed and her husband, Jordan; Erin Brown and her husband, Tony; Preston Wegner; Jared Preston and his wife, Sara; Emily Koerselman and her husband, Laryl; Brenna Schwartzenburg and her husband, Ben; Chad Preston and his wife, Corrin; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Ethan, Taylor, Carter, Emma, Brynn, Elsie, Ben, Blake, Madi, Hudson, Emerson, Nora, Leo, Porter, Everly, Kash, Maggie, Finn, Landry, Croix, and Sawyer; her sisters, Mary Lou Peterson and Kathleen Martin; as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Marge was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Preston, son, Larry Preston, infant son, David Preston, and her parents.
