Marjorie (Margie) Helen Sikorski, age 91, passed peacefully on August 1, 2025. She was born November 20, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan. Margie was the daughter of the late Joseph M. Sikorski Sr. and Margaret Bosel and sister to the late George Sikorski and Joseph Sikorski Jr., and sister-in-law to the late Betty Sikorski. She is survived by nieces Kathleen (Dale) Schacht, Linda (Eric) Brown and Judith (Ken) Hatfield and grandnephews Ryan (Jaci) Schacht, Michael (Haylie) Schacht, Logan (Kaitlyn) Hatfield, Christian (Emily) Hatfield and grandnieces Rachel Brown and Shelbi Sikorski, and grandnephew Shane Sikorski, and as well as seven great grand nieces and nephews. Margie had a long career at Vickers Corporation in Troy, Michigan. Her love of music and singing led her to join the Detroit Edison Glee Club where she spent many years traveling and performing with them. Unbelievably kind, she never had a harsh word to say about anyone. She was a faithful servant and lived her faith and was always a model Christian to others. Margie was deeply devoted to God, her family and friends. She had lifelong friendships from her childhood and many new ones through her work at Vickers and the Glee Club. Margie was very outgoing and independent. She enjoyed being out and about and loved engaging with new people, always making new friends along the way. Her kind blue eyes and cheerful demeanor would draw people to her. She was extremely thoughtful, grateful and charitable. She didn't make a lot of money in her lifetime, but she always donated large amounts to her favorite charities throughout every year. She would say "This is my life – what I love to do." Margie often took care of her elderly friends – taking them to doctor and hair appointments, driving them to church, going out to eat or bringing them food, or just a drive to witness nature. Always putting others before herself. She also loved to travel, watch the Tigers play as well as Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy nightly. She was a wonderful aunt to her three nieces and their families. Margie never missed recognizing a birthday, holiday or special occasion. No matter how busy she was, the card would arrive in plenty of time for that special day with a handwritten cheery note inside. And we could always count on her making her special veggie platter and dip for our holiday gatherings. No one could ever duplicate her recipe. Margie got so much joy out of the simplest things in life – a picture-perfect day, a beautiful flower, a drive to look at the fall leaves, the fresh fallen snow, or a good dog. Her optimism and positivity were contagious, which is why so many came to love her. She loved animals – especially dogs and enjoyed spending time with the family dogs and one of her favorite pastimes was watching the "Dog Whisperer". Margie had such fond memories of her childhood dog, Prince, and she often told stories about him and would say how much she still missed him. Margie was one of a rare group of people and she will be greatly missed by so many. A memorial service and burial will be held on August 21, 2025, at the National Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak beginning with a visitation at 9:30 am, followed by a mass at 10:00 am. Burial will take place at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Southfield at 11:30 am. Memorials are suggested to the Michigan Humane Society.
