Obituary published on Legacy.com by Strong & Jones Funeral Home - Tallahassee on Dec. 2, 2025.
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mrs. Marjorie Lamb Vactor.
Marjorie Lamb Vactor answered the Master's call on November 27, 2025 and took her rest in Him. She was born in Midway, Florida to the late Eugene Lamb, Sr. and Marjorie Parker Lamb. She attended the public schools in Gadsden County. At an early age, she was converted under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Sam Mann at St. Luke PB Church in Midway, Florida. She would later join her brother, Bishop Willie Lamb, Sr. and become a member of The Lamb's Temple, in
Tallahassee, Florida, where she served diligently until she could not anymore.
During her adult years, she met Terry Bertram Ross Vactor and they later married on July 23, 1966, in Meadville, Pennsylvania. During their union, they welcomed their only daughter Felicia Vactor in June 1976. Felicia went on to bring an additional joy to Marjorie's life by having twin sons, Joshua and Jordan Triplett, who were her pride and joy.
During her years of employment, Marjorie worked and retired from retail at J. C. Penney's and found a love of doing hair. She became a beautician at Cost Cutters and worked with pride each day. She would recall stories of how her customers, young and old, of every race, would tell her about raising their children, recipes, and how those same children would sit in her chair to receive their first haircuts. After retiring from Cost Cutters, she would take on a lighter load by working at the City Hall in Midway, Florida. There, the younger staff took to her as if she was their mother or a family friend. Even after resigning from her position there, they would keep in contact with Marjorie throughout the community. She also volunteered with her church by leading the Senior Citizen and Youth programs. She would take them to movies, restaurants, they conducted volunteer work, learned how to sew and knit, amongst other life-enriching activities. While she enjoyed giving back, she also enjoyed her down time by playing a numerous of card games, Yahtzee, and going to Bingo with fellow siblings, other family members and friends. This kept her mind sharp and her comedic side intact. She was known to give a good laugh but could also take a joke.
She was survived by her only daughter, Felicia Vactor; grandchildren, Joshua and Jordan Triplett; three brothers, Eugene Lamb, Jr. (Deloris), Charles Lamb and Bishop Willie Lamb, Sr. (Agatha); three sisters, Emma Lamb, Annie Houston, and Mary Lamb; god-daughter, Elena Hayes; best friend since childhood, Ms. Barbara Jean Bradwell; and a host other relatives and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her parents, five brothers and four sisters.
Funeral service will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 6, 2025 at St. Luke P.B. Church, 1477 E. Brickyard Rd. with burial at Midway Community Cemetery, both in Midway, Fl.
Viewing will be from 12 (Noon) to 6 P.M. Friday, December 5, 2025 at Strong & Jones Funeral Home.
