Marjorie M. Yard, age 87 years, long-time resident of Delaware Township, NJ, died on Tuesday, December 23, 2025. She passed at her home surrounded by her loving family while under hospice care.
Born in Flemington, NJ on January 17, 1938, she had resided in Hunterdon County, NJ all her life. Marjorie was a graduate of Flemington High School, with the Class of 1956 and was a school bus driver for forty-eight years for the Flemington-Raritan Regional School District until retiring.
Marjorie was a member of the former Darcy Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, Flemington, NJ. Additionally, she loved to dance. Above all, family was the center of her life, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, Winfred B. Mannon and Dorothy (Britton) Mannon. Additionally, she was predeceased by her husband, Richard Yard, Sr. who died in 2021; as well as her siblings, Robert Mannon and Nancy Greif.
Surviving are her children, Lawrence (Arlene) Yard of Upper Black Eddy, PA, Donna Yard of Pennsylvania, Cheryl Evans also of Pennsylvania, and Richard (Lisa) Yard, Jr. of Stockton, NJ; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Ryan Kadezabek, Brittney Kadezabek, Jeffrey Christie, Melissa Lombardi, Christina Yard, Katelynn Gryzeski, Harry Opdyke, Michael Opdyke, Amber Opdyke, Ashley Griem, Christopher Evans, Courtney LaRowe, Richard Yard, III, and McKayla Yard. Also surviving are her two sisters, Dorothy Murdoch and Judy Johnson and her brother Bruce Mannon, all of New Jersey.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 5, 2026, from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. A memorial service will follow at 7:00 PM also in the funeral home. Interment in the family plot will be private at Rosemont Cemetery, Route 519, Rosemont, NJ.
Memorial contributions in Marjorie’s memory may be made to the Delaware Township Fire Company, PO Box 87, Sergeantsville, NJ 08557.
